    Fresh Anointing
    How many of our problems would be solved in the church today if Christians had a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit upon their lives! You see. by not maintaining a constant experience of being filled to overflowing with the Spirit, many times Christians go through problems and face trials in life they wouldn’t have to face if they were fill up with the Spirit.
    Now let’s look at the characteristics of those who are continually be ” being filled” with the Spirit. We need to see the results of being anointed with fresh oil and the characteristics of those who maintain a fresh anointing of the Holy in their lives..
    • (Ephesians 5:18)  And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
    • (Ephesians 5:19)  Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
    • (Ephesians 5:20)  Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
    • (Ephesians 5:21)  Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
    Supernatural Utterance
    First, notice verse 19. “Speaking to yourselves….” Have you ever noticed in connection with being filled with the Spirit how many time the Bible talks about speaking?… In other words, the result of being filled with the Spirit is speaking in a supernatural utterance. Let’s look at those verses which show us this.
    • (Acts 2:4)  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
    • (Acts 10:44)  While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
    • (Acts 10:45)  And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
    • (Acts 10:46)  For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.
    • (Acts 4:31)  And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
    • (Ephesians 5:18) …  be ( being filled with the Spirit;
    • (Ephesians 5:19)  Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
    Speaking supernaturally is speaking by the unction of the Holy Spirit. When you get filled with the Holy Spirit, you speak with tongues. And in order to maintain the Spirit- filled life you ought to keep on speaking in tongues. You can also speak supernaturally in psalms, hymns, and spiritual sangs by the unction of the Spirit.
    If you are filled up to overflowing with the Spirit– if you maintain a fresh anointing of God upon your life— you will also continually be giving thank unto God,
    • (Psalms 92:1)  A Psalm or Song for the Sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
    • (Psalms 92:2)  To shew forth thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
    • (Psalms 92:3)  Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.
    • (Psalms 92:4)  For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
    • (Psalms 92:5)  O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.
    • (Psalms 92:6)  A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.
    • (Psalms 92:7)  When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:
    • (Psalms 92:8)  But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.
    • (Psalms 92:9)  For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
    • (Psalms 92:10)  But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
    • (Colossians 3:16)  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
    • (Colossians 3:17)  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
    • (Colossians 3:18)  Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
    Staying full of the Word and full of the Spirit is how we constantly maintain a fresh anointing in our lives. We need to stay in God’s Presence until we get a fresh anointing. We need to follow God’s New Testament pattern so we can be full reservoirs His glory.

    Jerusalem = “set ye double peace”

    1) denotes either the city itself or the inhabitants

    2) “the Jerusalem that now is”, with its present religious institutions, i.e. the Mosaic system, so designated from its primary external location

    3) “Jerusalem that is above”, that is existing in heaven, according to the pattern of which the earthly Jerusalem was supposed to be built

    3a) metaphorically “the City of God founded by Christ”, now wearing the form of the church, but after Christ’s return to put on the form of the perfected Messianic kingdom

    4) “the heavenly Jerusalem”, that is the heavenly abode of God, Christ, the angels, saints of the Old and New Testament periods and those Christians that are alive at Christ’s return

    5) “the New Jerusalem”, a splendid visible city to be let down from heaven after the renovation of the world, the future abode of the blessed
